“In his current role as Chief Technology Officer & Digital Media at the Los Cabos Tourism Board, Miguel has made innovation a practical and meaningful part of destination marketing,” said colleague Susie Albin-Najera, Director of Leisure Travel, Special Events & Promotions at Los Cabos Tourism, LA office. “Rather than viewing technology as an end in itself, he consistently asks how it can make travel more relevant, accessible, engaging, and valuable for visitors and tourism partners.
“His work has included the integration of artificial intelligence, accessibility solutions, immersive content, virtual experiences, personalized travel-planning tools, traveler-generated content, data intelligence, and other emerging technologies into the destination's digital ecosystem.
“His career began in hospitality, where he gained experience with some of the industry's most respected luxury brands and properties, including Hilton Los Cabos, Pueblo Bonito Resorts, Esperanza - Auberge Resorts Collection, One&Only Palmilla, and Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal,” continued Albin-Najera. “That foundation gave him an unusually comprehensive perspective on the visitor journey - from reservations and guest experience to public relations, food and beverage, social media, marketing, and destination promotion. He has carried that customer-first perspective into his work at Visit Los Cabos, helping modernize the way the destination connects with travelers around the world.”
