The capital city of Lima is a must-visit in Peru to experience the center of culture, food, and history.
Lima’s central hub takes you back in time with its Spanish colonial influence seen in the layout and buildings. The food scene is massive, with restaurants and food markets galore to enjoy local cuisines like ceviche, Cuy, Lomo Saltado, and more.

Explore the incredible and mysterious Nazca lines in Southern Peru for a glimpse of the lost culture of the Nazca people.
Thought to be from the period between A.D. 1 to 700, the geoglyphs are etched in the desert landscape and are still as clear and visible to this day.
There is much speculation about what the images depict and mean, but everyone has their beliefs. See it for yourself to make up your mind.
Wander Through Sacsayhuaman
Not far out from Cusco lies the ancient 15th-century citadel of Sacsayhuaman, another must-see set of ruins to visit in our opinion.
The complex includes a fortress structure and temples and was historically used for Inca ceremonies. It was also a major site during the Spanish conquest of Peru.
We recommend setting aside sufficient time to explore this site - you can wander around and visualize the ancient and more recent history that took place within those walls for hours on end.
Surf The North Coast
If you want the perfect balance of ancient history and untouched beaches, you need to make your way up to the North Coast of Peru.
There are desert landscapes and historical sites to visit and enjoy, but the coast is perfect for a few days at the beach and excellent seafood. It is a surfer’s paradise, so don’t forget to pack your board.
Other must-see sites include Huacas del Sol y de la Luna, Caral, and the city of Trujillo.
