Non-Beach Destinations for Spring Break 2021

Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona features incredible geography and stargazing opportunities. Where else can you find a petrified forest AND a fossilized coral reef bed? Plus, Arizona always has warm weather during the spring.

Santa Fe, New Mexico features good weather and ample activities. Try to capture that romantic sunset in a painting, or head out on a hike. The land of enchantment's cultural capital is sure to please.

Now may be the best time to visit the Grand Canyon. Watch the beautiful Arizona sunset over the gorge, and enjoy a nice hike in warm weather. Just be sure to bring a sweater for nighttime.

If you're not too into a warm spring break destination, try out the Yosemite National Park in California. These massive, pre-historic trees will leave you awestruck.

Head over to Salt Lake City, Utah, and visit the Great Salt Lake State Park, where you can experience the salt flats. While it may not be warm enough to soak away all those Zoom calls in the Great Salt Lake, it's still bound to be a memorable trip.

Lake Tahoe, straddling the border of Nevada and California, is a perfect getaway for those who don't like the salty ocean. It may not yet be warm enough to swim in, but it will be warm enough to boat and enjoy the spring weather. Rent a cabin in a secluded area, and leave your phone turned off; you'll want to enjoy this place, without distractions.

New Orleans is a historic foodie delight. Satisfy your morbid curiosity with a walk through the famous above-ground cemeteries, listen to music being played and, of course, eat delicious Cajun food!

Sonoma Valley may not yet be too warm, but that's no matter. If you're looking for a romantic getaway that isn't the beach, then the wine country is where you'll find it.

San Antonio is a beautiful destination to visit in March or April because it gets hot! This city's historic district is beautiful and romantic: just take a walk along the riverfront, and you'll find out why.

Denver, Colorado is a great option for those who love to get active: several great areas around the city are perfect for day trips that involve hiking and other outdoor activities. Take some time to explore the fun city, too.

Nashville is a great place to visit over spring break. Listen to live music and explore the city where so many country stars made it big. Who knows? Maybe you'll be next.

Lastly, who wouldn't want to visit Walt Disney World in Florida? From Animal Kingdom's safari to the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge park, you'll have enough to explore for days. The park is currently operating at limited capacity, too, so this might just offer you a better experience than it was pre-pandemic.
