Fear Fair, Seymour, Indiana

Located just over an hour south of Indianapolis, Fear Fair-Indiana's scariest haunted house-is back with several exciting updates in 2018, including Rockford Riot, described as "an insanely fast-paced and chaotic prison riot scenario." What's more, the Ascension, Voodoo and Plague haunts will feature all-new animations and scenes.

Frightland, Middletown, Delaware

Delaware's Frightland has been named among the country's top 10 scariest haunted attractions by multiple outlets and for good reason. It offers more than a half-dozen different haunts, including four indoor haunted houses and a two-mile-long haunted hayride.

Haunted Hollow, Rockwood, Pennsylvania

Horror fans can find Haunted Hollow about 70 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. This beloved attraction is home to several hair-raising haunts, including the haunted Bruner Boarding House, a remote cornfield where the scarecrows come alive and the Milford Asylum as well as an escape room. The latter two are new for 2018.

Hobb's Grove, Sanger, California

Hobb's Grove is a renowned Halloween haunt located just 30 minutes outside of Fresno, California. This fun-filled attraction features a haunted house, forest and hayride as well as a brand new immersive, interactive laser-shooting experience called The Portal. Guests can also take part in zombie paintball.

Terror Behind the Walls, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Consisting of six haunted attractions inside the cellblocks of Philadelphia's Eastern State Penitentiary, Terror Behind the Walls is routinely ranked among the nation's most terrifying fall attractions. Rioting zombie inmates shock guests at Lock Down while the all-new and highly interactive Infirmary brings visitors face to face with maniacal surgeons, dentists and nurses.

13th Floor Haunted House, Denver, Colorado

The 13th Floor is Denver's largest haunted house and is one of Colorado's premier weekend attractions come Halloween season. Notable haunts include The Possession, Trick or Treat and Half Alive. Groups can also participate in fully interactive mini escape games.

Niles Scream Park, Niles, Michigan

The 44-acre Niles Scream Park recently reached the 2 million interior visitor milestone, cementing its status as one of the country's premier haunted attractions. Highlights include a haunted house with over 100 different paths to choose from, the Field of Screams, a haunted hayride and 5-minute escape rooms.

Wisconsin Fear Grounds, Waukesha, Wisconsin

Wisconsin Fear Grounds boast not one but three different haunted houses, including Morgan Manor, a Victorian mansion housing Morgana and her eight witch sisters. Torment and Slaughterhouse are equally terrifying. There's also an all-new escape room for 2018, an hour-long terror-inducing adventure known as ANGUISH.

Dread Hollow, Chattanooga, Tennessee

Chattanooga's Dread Hollow is the creation of horror masterminds Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern and hands-down one of the scariest haunted attractions in the country for 2018, featuring committed interactive actors, unsettling illusions and terrifying storylines that make for one of the more extreme Halloween season experiences.

The USS Nightmare, Newport, Kentucky

Located on the Ohio River just outside of Cincinnati in Newport, Kentucky, the USS Nightmare is as unique as haunted attractions come. Visitors will encounter not one but two decks of pure horror with 15 percent of guests bailing before the tour is up. Special events slated for the first weekend in November include a Haunted House Boos Cruise and Halloween Nightmare Experience starring Michael Myers.

Hauntville Haunted Houses, Elyria, Ohio

Ohio's scariest haunted houses, Hauntville Haunted Houses, reside just west of Cleveland. Similar to Philadelphia's Terror Behind the Walls, Hauntville intertwines a handful of separate themed attractions, including CellBlock 13, Pyscho Manor, Butcher Barn and Wicked Clowns in 4-D. The newest haunted attraction, The Unknown, lets visitors' own imaginations produce the horror.
