Good news for budget travelers: an affordable Labor Day Weekend getaway for 2025 is still within reach.
Travel search site Kayak has found airfares to nine appealing domestic destinations are still affordable with average round-trip tickets priced under $300. Many of the destinations will allow travelers to soak up sun in Southern states such as Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee.
Overall this year, late summer airfare prices are holding steady compared to last year. Domestic airfare for Labor Day weekend is up just 1 percent (or about $4) compared with 2024. For international airline tickets, prices are trending 7 percent cheaper in 2025 (or about $52 less) compared to last Labor Day.
In order to score the most affordable fares, it’s important to be flexible with your travel dates. Additionally, Kayak offered this tip: The cheapest day to travel on domestic flights will be Saturday, August 30, with average airfare around $277.

Kayak also shared its top trending destinations for the holiday weekend, with locations in the Caribbean, Canada, and California seeing the biggest increases in search interest this year.
