Alaska Airlines has unveiled a fresh and chef-curated
inflight menu for the Spring that highlights the carrier’s West Coast flair
with strong influences from Asian and Latin American cuisines.
Launching this month, first-class travelers can choose from worldwide
dishes, including Birria Beef and Ube Island Pancakes, while Premium Class and
Main Cabin passengers can enjoy fresh salads like the Caul Me Maybe, a
Mediterranean dish created in partnership with Seattle-based Evergreens.
Alaska’s
new menu is now available and complimentary in First Class on most flights 670
miles and above, while customers with Main Cabin tickets can purchase the meals
on most flights 775 miles or more.
“As always, the inspiration for creating our menu is based
on our guests’ feedback and that’s exactly what we did when developing our
spring offerings,” Alaska managing director Todd Traynor-Corey said.
“This is a just a precursor to an exciting year ahead,” Traynor-Corey
continued. “We can’t wait to share what’s to come on our premium food and
beverage line-up.”
Some of the other dishes inspired by the West Coast include smoked
BBQ beef burnt ends with kimchi fried rice, authentic Thai green curry, French-toast
style thick banana bread, and Evergreens Change of Greenery Salad.
In addition, Alaska
added its first exclusively brewed craft beer in a unique can. The ‘Cloud
Cruiser’ IPA is brewed by Seattle-based Fremont Brewing and made with local
ingredients.
