American Airlines is expanding its Venezuela network, with new service from Miami to Barcelona, Venezuela beginning January 15, 2027.
American Airlines will offer three flights each week to Barcelona (BLA) on its Embraer 175 aircraft. The airline will operate the flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The flights will be available to book beginning October 19.
The airline was the first American air carrier since 2019 to restart service between the United States and Venezuela earlier this year. It now also offers routes between Miami and Caracas and Maracaibo.
“American is proud of the robust service we’re providing to Venezuela and prouder still that we are the only U.S. airline serving Venezuela. The addition of Barcelona further strengthens our long-standing commitment to the country,” said American’s Senior Vice President and Chief Government Affairs Officer Stephen Neuman.
“This new flight to our Miami hub will also benefit customers with one-stop access to more than 100 destinations in North America. We are grateful to U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and both the U.S. and Venezuelan governments for their support in launching this new service,” continued Neuman.
