One of the swankiest airport lounge networks in the United States is planning to expand its presence at three major domestic airports.
American Express has announced two new Centurion Lounge locations at airports along the East Coast, as well as an expansion to its current lounge in Dallas-Fort Worth. The new and improved locations will begin to open next year.
“American Express has long been at the forefront of the airport lounge experience, and we continue to build on that legacy and raise the bar as we grow our network,” said Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel. “We continue to innovate across our lounge network, while staying true to what makes the Centurion Lounge experience special: thoughtful design and great food and drinks.”
Two-Story Centurion Lounge Coming to Boston in 2029
One of the busiest airports in the U.S. is getting its first Centurion Lounge. Amex says it plans to add a sweeping new Centurion Lounge at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) before the end of the decade.
The space will be among the largest Centurion Lounges in Amex’s network and be spread across two stories. The Boston lounge will also have an outdoor terrace where guests can get a dose of fresh air before their flight. Travelers can expect dedicated work stations, several plush seating areas, premium food and beverage options, and more.
The opulent space is scheduled to open in the hub’s Terminal C in 2029.
A Second Sidecar by Centurion Lounge to Debut in Charlotte in 2027
American Express will launch a second location of its new Sidecar by Centurion Lounge concept next year at Charlotte-Douglass International Airport (CLT). Sidecar locations are geared toward solo travelers and those on a tight schedule who want to quickly order small plates and cocktails in an upscale environment. Travelers can access a Sidecar lounge 90 minutes before their flight. Food and drinks can be ordered via QR code and are served fast.
The first Sidecar location opened earlier this year in Las Vegas (LAS), and this second iteration will open in CLT’s Concourse A in 2027, with a Blue Roast by American Express Coffee Bar and other signature amenities.
“Sidecar by the Centurion Lounge is a welcome addition for passengers seeking a quick break with premium amenities,” said Ted Kaplan, CLT’s chief business and innovation officer. “It reflects strong demand for premium spaces and our commitment to an elevated passenger experience.”
A Reimagined Centurion Location Opening at Dallas-Fort Worth in 2027
Amex’s lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is getting a major expansion. When the renovations are completed in 2027, the existing space in Terminal D near Gate D12 will be 50 percent larger, with additional seating, a new dining area, and a second full-service bar. There will even be a walk-up ice cream window, where travelers can treat themselves to a scoop of something sweet. Aside from the added amenities, the space will also be refreshed with more modern design elements in a palate of desert tones.
