Travelers flying through Las Vegas International Airport (LAS) in 2026 will be treated to a completely new lounge concept from American Express.
Next year, the credit card company will debut Sidecar by The Centurion Lounge, a new category of its beloved premium lounges that will cater to faster visits. The all-new space will be designed for travelers with a short amount of time before their flight who want to stop in for a quick bite or drink. The Sidecar lounge concept will still offer gourmet small plates and signature cocktails, curated by the same team that sets menus at Amex’s other Centurion Lounges.
The lounge’s layout will be more intimate and feature a “speakeasy” design, with a palette of earth tones as well as accents of brass, natural stone, and greenery. Guests will only be granted access to the Sidecar space just 90 minutes before their flight takes off.
“Many of our visitors spend less than an hour in our Lounges, and we’ve created Sidecar specifically for them,” said Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel. “The first Centurion Lounge opened in Las Vegas in 2013, so it’s fitting that we’re launching this new lounge concept at LAS as we continue to innovate to meet our Card Members’ needs.”
Aside from announcing the brand new Sidecar concept, Amex will open its latest full Centurion Lounge at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND) on July 16. Highlights of that 7,500-square-foot space will include menus designed by Japanese Chef Satoshi Ogino that include ramen and sushi, an open kitchen where guests can watch chefs cook, as well as a sweets bar that pays homage to Japan’s snack culture.
“The Centurion Lounge at Haneda Airport celebrates Japanese culture, featuring custom artwork, an exciting menu that showcases the flavors of Tokyo, and my personal favorite – private meditation booths to help you recharge and find some calm before your flight,” Hendley said. “We’ve seen incredible demand for travel to Japan, it is one of the destinations where we’ve seen the highest growth recently. We look forward to showcasing the impeccable service Centurion Lounges are known for in a destination we know is so important to our Card Members.”
Signature amenities like shower suites and work stations, plus new perks like a VIP room for Centurion Members, will also be included.
The Haneda lounge will be Amex’s 30th Centurion location. The company has also announced a new partnership with James Beard Award-winning chefs to form a new group called The Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge. The group of chefs, which includes Mashama Bailey, Sarah Grueneberg, Kwame Onwuachi, and Mike Solomonov, will bring dishes and drinks from their restaurants around the country to Amex’s 15 U.S. lounges by the end of July.
