This week, low-cost
carrier Avelo
Airlines announced plans to start nonstop service from Hollywood Burbank
Airport (BUR) in Los
Angeles to Las
Vegas, as well as add new nonstop flights between Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New
Haven Airport (HVN) and Charleston, Charlotte/Concord, Daytona Beach and
Nashville.
Hailed as “L.A.’s
most popular airport” for its smaller size and lesser crowds in comparison with
Los Angeles International (LAX), BUR is currently Avelo’s jumping off point to
14 different domestic destinations. That now includes the low-cost carrier’s convenient,
affordable and reliable operations to Sin City.
The new route from
Tinseltown to the so-called Entertainment Capital of the World will operate on
Fridays and Sundays from Friday, May 3 aboard Boeing Next Generation (NG) 737 equipment.
Flying into Las Vegas main airfield, Harry Reid International Airport (LAS),
these flights can initially be booked for as little as $57 one-way. To take
advantage of the low introductory fares, flights must be booked by April 10 for
travel to be completed by July 31, 2024.
“As Avelo
approaches the third anniversary of our first flight from BUR, we’re excited to
make Vegas our 14th popular destination from L.A.’s most popular airport,” said
Andrew Levy, Avelo Airlines’ Founder, Chairman and CEO. “We were very
encouraged by the strong Customer response we received when we offered special
flights between BUR and LAS for football’s big game in February. We look
forward to offering travelers Avelo’s everyday affordability, convenience, and
reliability between these two vibrant cities.”
Meanwhile, Avelo
is also adding more flights from Southern Connecticut's most convenient
airport, HVN, to several sought-after southern destinations.
- Starting
May 1, Avelo will add two more weekly flights from HVN to South Carolina’s
Charleston International Airport (CHS) on Wednesdays and Saturdays, doubling
its available flights to four times weekly.
- Starting
May 2, Avelo will commence twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays to
Charlotte, North Carolina via Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA). Then,
from June 14, the carrier will double its service to four time weekly, adding
in flights on Mondays and Fridays.
- From
June 12, Avelo will throw in one additional weekly flight to Florida’s
Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) on Wednesdays, bringing its total
available weekly flights to the coastal city to three.
- Starting
May 3, Avelo will add two more weekly flights to Tennessee’s Nashville
International Airport (BNA) on Mondays and Fridays, raising its total weekly
flight count to four.
“At Avelo
Airlines, our Purpose is to Inspire Travel. We do this by saving our Customers
time and money so they can travel more,” remarked Levy. “These additional
flights, coupled with our everyday low fares and industry-leading reliability,
will inspire our Customers to fly even more this summer. We are anticipating
our busiest summer yet. These additional flights reflect the strong demand we
are seeing across our existing and new destinations Avelo serves from HVN.”
