Delta
Air Lines is adding a playful new dimension to its inflight experience with
the launch of Sky Hopper, a retro-style game exclusively available to SkyMiles
Members. Passengers can access the game on their mobile devices through Delta
Sync Wi-Fi and play for a chance to win a $400 Delta Gift Card every month,
now through April 2025.
“With Sky Hopper,
we’re giving our SkyMiles Members something fun and unexpected to look forward
to each time they fly with us,” said Sarah Honeyman, Managing Director of IFEC
Engagement & Optimization. “We’re committed to evolving the inflight experience
with entertainment options that resonate with all of our customers while
introducing them to all the great ways they can grow their world with SkyMiles
and get rewarded for their loyalty.”
Since launching
its Delta Sync Wi-Fi in 2023, more than 700 aircraft in Delta’s fleet have been
outfitted with the free high-speed internet service, providing more than 90
percent of Delta passengers access to streaming-quality Wi-Fi. That’s the vast
majority of more than 200 million flyers annually. Internet connectivity of
this quality and at this scale remains unrivaled in the aviation industry.
Needless to say, the
move has been a hit with customers, ranking among the top three contributors to
guest satisfaction. It has also proven a major catalyst for passengers to sign
up for Delta’s loyalty program just through accessing the free Wi-Fi, with 3
million new SkyMiles members having signed joined since Delta Sync Wi-Fi was
introduced. And, many of these fresh additions are younger than existing
SkyMiles members.
This demographic
has expressed a strong interest in interactive gaming experiences, a demand
that Sky Hopper hopes to answer. Besides offering a fun new entertainment option
for passengers during their inflight journeys, Sky Hopper was designed to tap
into the accelerating trend of nostalgia for retro, 8-bit-style gaming.
How To Play for
Your Chance to Win
- Step 1: On most domestic mainline flights, you
can log in to Delta Sync Wi-Fi on your personal mobile device using your SkyMiles
credentials. If you’re not already a SkyMiles member, you can join for free at
delta.com/joinskymiles.
- Step 2: Once logged in, navigate to the
“Entertainment” section on the Wi-Fi portal to locate Sky Hopper. You’ll notice
opportunities to explore other exclusive content and partner offers as you
progress through the screens.
- Step 3: Start playing! As you play, you'll
collect SkyMiles facts—information about the loyalty program, partnerships and more.
Once you’ve played the game all the way through until the “Game Over” screen appears
and collected a minimum of one SkyMiles fact, your entry will automatically be
submitted to the sweepstakes contest.
Play as much as
you want, you’ll be able to earn up to 10 entries per flight, with a maximum of
30 entries per month, increasing your chances of winning the monthly $400 Delta
Gift Card.
SkyMiles Members
who prefer not to play can also enter the sweepstakes by mailing their name and
the email address that’s linked to their SkyMiles account, addressing their
