Delta Air Lines has announced plans to resume daily nonstop flights between New York's JFK International Airport and Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, starting next month.
The first flight will depart JFK on September 6 and arrive in Tel Aviv the next morning. The return flight will depart Tel Aviv on September 7, arriving in New York later that same day.
The resumed service will operate on Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo aircraft and comes after a "thorough review of the evolving security environment in the region," the airline said.
"The safety and security of our customers and employees remain our top priority, and Delta will continue to monitor the situation closely in coordination with aviation authorities and government agencies," Delta added.
"Customers are encouraged to check delta.com and the Delta app for the latest flight updates and travel information."
The resumed service comes amid airlines being forced to stop and start their routes to Israel and some other Middle East destinations due to ongoing military conflict in the region.
