Travelers looking for a little more comfort during their trips to the Caribbean will have a new option soon as JetBlue Airways announced Monday in a press release that the company would begin offering its "Mint" experience on flights to Barbados and Aruba.
These Mint flights would originate from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, traveling to two of the company's most popular Caribbean destinations.
The service will be seasonal and is scheduled to debut in November.
JetBlue executive vice president commercial and planning, Marty St George, spoke via a press release about the impact Mint had on transcontinental flights and the hope for the same in Barbados and Aruba:
"Ever since we launched Mint, customers have been asking us where we will take it next. We re-invented transcontinental flying with Mint, and we anticipate demand for an enhanced product will be equally strong for these Caribbean destinations."
To fully appreciate JetBlue's Mint experience, travelers must understand what the changes mean to their flights. According to the press release, the airline is upgrading with, "private suites, the widest seat and longest fully-flat bed in the U.S. domestic market, tapas-style dining, custom amenity kits and 15-inch flat screen televisions with free entertainment."
When JetBlue launches the Mint service in November, the company will become the only airline from the United States with lie-flat seating en route to the Caribbean. For those looking for a tropical vacation, flying Mint sounds like a smart way to start the journey.
JetBlue will begin Mint flights to the Caribbean on November 7 and service will run through April 30, 2016. The airline will schedule one roundtrip flight to Barbados and Aruba on Saturdays.
The company will step up the Mint flights to daily roundtrip runs to both destinations during the busiest time period between December 19 and January 4, 2016.
