JetBlue made its inaugural flight to Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) today from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), marking the airline's 11th destination in Florida.
The airline is also launching a new nonstop service between VPS and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) later today.
Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, said, “With nonstop access to both JFK and Boston, we’re making it easier than ever for customers to travel between the Northeast and one of Florida’s most sought-after beach destinations, while also giving local residents convenient connections to JetBlue’s broader network.”
In celebration of the launch, JetBlue is offering introductory one-way fares starting at $69.
From April 17 to April 26, the airline will operate two nonstop flights between Boston and Destin–Fort Walton on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to accommodate spring break travelers.
“This is an incredible addition to our passenger service at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport,” said Okaloosa County Board Chairman Trey Goodwin. “The success of our airport relies on the success of our partners and we are excited to welcome JetBlue to the VPS family.”
