JetBlue fliers will soon have a new place to relax and unwind before boarding a flight in the carrier’s second-largest focus city.
The airline will open its second-ever BlueHouse Lounge location at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) on August 27.
The stylish, 12,000 square-foot space will open its doors at 5 a.m. ET in BOS Terminal C, joining the first BlueHouse location at New York JFK in JetBlue’s growing lounge network.
Along with the new BOS lounge’s debut, JetBlue will be expanding complimentary access at both lounge locations to passengers departing on Mint and Mint Flex fares, starting on August 27.
The addition of airport lounges to JetBlue’s premium offerings is a major component of the airline’s Jet Forward initiative, which seeks to enhance premium services.
“We’re excited to extend that experience to more customers, while being thoughtful about access so our lounges remain comfortable, welcoming spaces where customers can truly relax and enjoy their time before a flight,” said JetBlue’s president Marty St. George. “In Boston, we’ve created a space that feels distinctly JetBlue and celebrates the city and greater New England.”
The lounge will offer areas for relaxation, working, and dining. A central bar area will serve up artisanal cocktails designed by Jackson Cannon of Boston cocktail bar Equal Measure as well as New England craft beers from The Publick House.
Separate dining rooms will entice travelers with local specialties like North Shore roast beef sliders and crab and shrimp rolls.
The lounge is designed to evoke a “warm residential” atmosphere with New England-inspired design elements, copper accents, and "eclectic” furnishings.
A game room called The Dugout is an homage to Boston’s legendary sports culture, the Library Workspace is modeled after the historic Boston Public Library, and the Candy Closet offers to-go treats from local sweets purveyor Madeleine’s Candy Shop.
In addition to certain Mint customers, the lounges are complimentary for travelers with Mosaic 4 status or JetBlue Premier Cardmembers. Travelers with lower Mosaic status or another JetBlue card can pay for access, with passes ranging from $59 to $79 per person.
