A drunk airline passenger broke the leg of a flight attendant and caused havoc on an Aeroflot flight before being arrested.

Maxim Pashnin, 36, of Russia, had boarded an Aeroflot flight from Siberia to Moscow with 158 other passengers on May 14.

In a statement, Aeroflot explained, "An incident took place on board of Aeroflot SU1307 flight from Novosibirsk to Moscow, May 14, due to the destructive behavior of one passenger. Having got on board with signs of alcohol intoxication, the man has violated the rules of behaving on board Aeroflot planes."

The incident was captured on video by another passenger on the plane. A female flight attendant told Pashnin to put out his cigarette when he boarded the plane, to which he replied with aggressive behavior.

In the video, a male crew member defends the female flight attendant by saying, "Hey, hey, don't touch the young woman [flight attendant]. Why are you raising your hand on her? Why are you raising your hand to a woman?"

You can hear Pashnin say, "Shall I smash your face?" and "She put her camera on me!" He pushes the male attendant in the video and later pushed the female crew member into the cockpit. The pilot and co-pilot tried to restrain Pashin.

"Pashnin pushed the young woman stewardess inside the cockpit and then hit the pilots, the captain and the co-pilot. These three crew members resisted and managed to block the hooligan and pass him into the hands of police. The plane flew without the man," the police said.

Another video showed Pashin attacking police officers.

"After that, the man initiated the fight with passengers and with policemen who arrived to remove the hooligan from the flight. As a result, the senior steward has got an injury-his leg was broken. Aeroflot intends to demand the maximum punishment with paying damages to both the aviation company and its employees," the statement from the airline said.

Aeroflot has banned Pashnin from traveling on their planes. He may also face up to six years in jail for "air hooliganism and violence against law enforcement officers."

One passenger who witnessed the event told the Mirror, "It's lucky all this happened at the airport rather than when we were flying. Can you imagine the terror if he had gone crazy during the flight?"
