If you’re still looking for an affordable summer vacation, Skyscanner has just debuted a new suite of trip planning tools to help travelers find deals.
The tools use AI features to help travelers uncover affordable options for flights and discover new destinations.
The new trip planning tools come as summer vacation appears out of reach for many travelers in the United States due to elevated airfares.
“At a time when travellers are navigating an increasingly complex travel landscape, we’re focused on building tools that help them plan and book with confidence,” said Skyscanner CEO Bryan Batista. “We’re also continuing to test and evolve how we present flight information, including live flight tracking and trialling mapping price insights.”
Here’s a look at how travelers can use Skyscanner’s latest AI search features to eke out an affordable vacation this summer.
Explore with AI Feature
Travelers can use natural language search queries to find deals, such as “help me find cheap flights to Japan in December.” The Explore with AI tool also allows travelers to compare data from different destinations side by side and offers AI-generated insights on how to save, like “September is typically 24% cheaper than December."
Road Trip Planner
Vacationers who prefer ground transportation can use Skyscanner’s new roadtrip planner for all aspects of their journey, from finding an affordable car rental to generating a personalized driving itinerary. Travelers just need to enter their car rental pickup location, travel dates, and preferred route type, and the AI tool will do all the planning.
Among the different journey styles are scenic route, fastest route, adventure route, cultural exploration, and relaxing getaway. Depending on which one travelers choose, the tool will generate suggested routes and stops that offer a mix of scenic views, historical landmarks, peaceful stops, or outdoor activities.
Refreshed DROPS Flight Deals
Travelers can also take advantage of the Skyscanner app’s refreshed DROPS feature, which scans airfares to find flights with prices that have dropped more than 20% over the last seven days. With the reboot, travelers can now see up to +822% more deals a day.
