Flights between the United States and Switzerland are about to get a lot more luxurious, starting this fall. Swiss International Airlines has just unveiled mockups of its brand new Swiss Senses cabins at Zurich airport.

The new cabins are the biggest product investment in the airline’s history, and they feature the airline’s first-ever suites with closing doors in first and business class.

But all passengers—even those in economy—will see upgrades, with new cabins in each part of the plane featuring “human-centric” lighting to ease jet lag and a new in-flight entertainment system with larger screens and the option to connect personal devices throughout the aircraft.

The refreshed cabins will debut on Swiss’s forthcoming Airbus A350-900 planes, the first of which will be delivered in October. Swiss will initially deploy the first A350 on European routes, and then it will use the aircraft on long-haul flights to the U.S. this winter on its route between Boston and Zurich. Fares for that route, which the new A350 will begin operating on January 1, 2026, are on sale now.

The Swiss Senses first-class suites will be fully enclosed by sliding privacy doors and feature a personal wardrobe, a lie-flat seat with built-in heating and cooling systems, a wireless charging station, and an entertainment screen that stretches the width of the suite. The suite at the center of the cabin can be converted to accommodate two passengers traveling together. Throughout the cabin, warm colors and wood accents add to the sense of elegance.

Even the first-class lavatory is designed to impress. The airline says that the design of the new spacious washroom was inspired by the famous spring in Vals, Switzerland, with “a slate-black exterior and a green interior that alludes to the spring’s fresh and cooling water,” according to the carrier.

Fliers in business class will also have access to a handful of seats that have sliding privacy doors. Each spot will have lie-flat seats that measure 6.5 feet to 7 feet long, personal heating and cooling mechanisms in every seat, and a wireless charging station.

The new Swiss Senses premium economy seats will have ultra-spacious legroom, with a pitch of nearly three feet, and passengers in regular economy will now have conveniences like a 13-inch high-resolution entertainment screen with Bluetooth capability, as well as USB charging ports at every seat.

“I am delighted that, with the arrival of our new Airbus A350s, we will be able to offer our customers an even more personal, exclusive and individual air travel experience,” said SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach. “Our new seats are the centerpiece of our new aircraft cabins. But SWISS Senses appeals to all the senses – with its special lighting concept, for instance, and also with our new scent that has been specially created for SWISS.”

All of the carrier’s new Airbus A350-900 planes will be delivered with the refreshed cabins on board. Eventually, Swiss says it will retrofit its existing Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 777-300ER planes with the new cabins as well.
