United Airlines Adds Four New Domestic Routes

United Airlines is adding new routes to service smaller, regional locations in Colorado and West Virginia.

The carrier has filed plans to add the flights from its hubs in Chicago and the Washington D.C. area, according to a report from The Points Guy. In total, the carrier will add four new routes.

From Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) it will begin serving Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport, in Colorado and also Morgantown Municipal Airport (MGW) in West Virginia.  The new routes were confirmed by a United spokesperson when contacted by The Points Guy.

In addition to those two routes, the carrier plans to begin service from Washington D.C.’s  Dulles International Airport (IAD) to MGW and also to Indiana’s South Bend International Airport (SBN).

The routes between Dulles and South Bend will begin in early December and will operate on a daily basis. The route will be flown by United Express partner Republic Airways, TPG reported.

In mid-December, the airline will begin the new service to Morgantown. This route will be operated by United Express partner SkyWest Airlines. In addition, SkyWest will operate once-weekly flights on Saturdays that will run from Chicago to Crested Butte. This offering is set to begin on February 15, 2025.

The new domestic routes are just the latest expansion from United. Just last week the Chicago-based carrier announced that it would begin servicing the island nation of Dominica from New York City.

At the same time however, the carrier has also scaled back some of its European service over the years.
