Over the last several years, United Airlines has taken the scissors to its own schedule in a big way.
The carrier has reduced its service in Europe by eliminating 14 airports over the last 12 years, with the list of European cities and airports including
Berlin Tegel is a no-brainer – it has been closed for more than three years. The factors for discontinuing service at the other airports are varied. They include such things as passenger demand.
Moscow Domodedovo is also a no-brainer since many airlines have discontinued service because of the war between Ukraine and Russia.
United did resume flights to Israel earlier this spring.
United did not comment on the discontinued service, and it is unknown whether the airline will reinstate some of the routes to the affected airports. For now, travelers will have to consider other airports or other airlines.
