American Airlines has begun previously announced flights from three different hubs.
The carrier has started flights between Charlotte Douglas and Tucson, Arizona; Philadelphia and San Antonio; Washington Reagan and Tallahassee.
None of the new routes has any direct route competition, and all will be operated on a daily basis.
Charlotte, Philadelphia and Washington Reagan are all major existing American Airlines hubs and the new routes will increase their proverbial footprint as well as increasing their ability to offer nonstop flights to destinations customers want to get to.
“Approximately 120,000 travellers fly between San Antonio and Philadelphia each year, so this new service answers the need for many travellers and is a highlight to our economic progress,” said Russ Handy, Aviation Director for the City of San Antonio.
American Airlines has recently made news with their new master sommelier of their wine program. In a more serious report, an American ticket agent was lauded for saving two young girls from human trafficking.
