Korean Air chairman Cho Yang-ho has apologized for his daughter's outburst that caused a flight to be delayed last week, according to the ABC News.
The incident, which occurred at John F. Kennedy International Aiport in New York and is being referred to by some as "nut rage," was sparked when a flight attendant in first class offered Cho Hyun-ah macadamia nuts in a bag instead of on a plate.
Cho, a former Korean Air head of cabin service responded by ordering a senior crew member off the plane, forcing it to return to the gate.
"It's my fault," Cho Yang-ho said. "As chairman and father, I ask for the public's generous forgiveness."
Cho Yang-ho said he should have raised his daughter better and called her behavior "foolish."
Cho Hyun-ah, seen below apologizing in front of journalists, was scheduled to be questioned by the transport ministry on Friday:
The ministry plans to investigate whether her outburst violated aviation safety laws.
Cho Hyun-ah resigned as Korean Air's head of cabin service in wake of the incident and her father said she will be resigning from executive roles at all affiliates of Hanjin, Korean Air's parent company.
Friday's apology comes after the company sparked additional public outrage by excusing Cho Hyun-ah's behavior in an apology issued to the passengers who were inconvenienced.
