Amtrak launched its annual New York Midweek Winter Travel BOGO sale, offering two tickets for the price of one for travel within the state of New York.
The sale is available to book now for coach seating through February 28, 2024, for train travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between now and February 29, 2024. Travelers should use the promotion code V309 when booking to get the free companion ticket. Seats must be purchased at least one day in advance.
Travelers can also enjoy traveling between New York City and Montreal, Canada, on the Adirondack and between New York City and Burlington, Vermont, on the Ethan Allen Express.
Amtrak’s amenities include free Wi-Fi in the U.S., cafe service, no middle seats and the ability to travel with small dogs and cats for an additional fee throughout the U.S.
“New York State has so much to offer as there’s an adventure waiting for you in every region and city whether you want to relax, explore, sightsee, taste or experience the bright lights,” said Amtrak Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Eliot Hamlisch. “Amtrak can take you there in comfort, and as a Central New York native who knows all about the beauty of the entire state, I look forward to seeing you onboard.”
Amtrak was awarded nearly $10 billion in Federal Railroad Administration funding for work along the Northeast Corridor, a portion of train routes that begin in Boston and connect into cities all the way down to Washington, D.C., including some in New York. The improvements are expected to modernize train travel for the region.
