For travelers looking to hit the rails, Amtrak is offering a limited-time Auto Train sale that will help people avoid nearly 900 miles of driving on I-95.

The rail company is offering fares as low as $39 for adults and $19.50 for children on the Auto Train, plus the cost of a vehicle. Savings options are also available for travel in private rooms aboard Amtrak trains.

The discounted pricing can be booked between Tuesday, February 11, and Thursday, February 20, for travel between Sanford, Florida, and Lorton, Virginia, from Wednesday, February 12, through Thursday, March 20.

The deal also applies to Lorton to Sanford trips between Monday, February 17, and Thursday, July 31. The discount is applied to tickets purchased in Coach Class, Roomette, Bedroom, and Accessible Rooms.

A one-day advance purchase is required, and terms and conditions apply.

Earlier this month, Amtrak announced enhancements to the Auto Train, including modernized interiors for the Coach, Dining, Sleeping cars and Sightseer Lounges, as well as new seating cushions and upholstery, carpet, LED lighting, tables and curtains.

The company is also looking to help travelers avoid rush hour when traveling to the station, so the rail company adjusted its Auto Train schedule by offering an earlier departure time.
