Millions of travelers turn to Rail Europe each year to simplify their journey through the continent's extensive rail network. The platform allows anyone, anywhere, to book train travel across Europe with ease, offering access to more than 200 rail providers and routes throughout the region.

A Train for Every Journey

Europe's rail system accommodates every type of traveler through its diverse train options. Day trains provide flexible schedules and numerous destinations, connecting cities throughout the day.

For those looking to maximize their time and budget, night trains offer an efficient solution by covering long distances while passengers sleep, eliminating the need for a hotel night. Most night trains feature various accommodation options, from deluxe one-berth sleepers with private facilities to economical reclining seats and four or six-berth couchettes.

High-speed trains remain the ideal choice for long-distance travel, connecting Europe's most popular cities at speeds up to 300 kilometers per hour. These trains arrive directly in city centers, minimizing travel time and maximizing adventure opportunities.

Intercity trains operate at an average speed of 170 kilometers per hour, making multiple stops between cities and offering passengers scenic countryside views.

Regional and local trains serve shorter routes, linking smaller towns and cities with frequent stops.

For travelers seeking extraordinary experiences, scenic trains provide complete immersion in Europe's natural wonders. Popular routes include Switzerland's Bernina Express, Glacier Express and GoldenPass Line, where the journey itself becomes the destination.

Flexible Booking Options

Rail Europe offers two primary ticketing options.

Point-to-point tickets cover one-way travel between specific stations, available as flexible open tickets or reserved global fare premier train tickets.

For more extensive travel, rail passes provide unlimited travel across selected countries or regions at a fixed price. Eurail and Interrail passes are particularly popular, covering up to 33 countries and offering the best value for itineraries with three or more journeys.

Travelers can reduce costs by booking in advance, traveling during off-peak times, maintaining flexible schedules and taking advantage of group discounts. Youth, senior and child discounts are widely available, and many passes include benefits like discounted public transportation and attraction entry fees.

The Rail Europe platform allows users to compare all operators and prices simultaneously, making it simple to build multi-leg journeys across different providers.
