Eurail is introducing several new Eurail Passes and a special Children Travel Free initiative. The new products are part of a long-term enhancement of the company's strategy to reach beyond its traditional markets to older travelers and family travelers. The new passes include the first-class Youth Pass, the five in 10 days Global Pass and the Attica Pass - a One Country Pass designed with Greek island-hopping in mind. New countries this year include Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Poland and Serbia bringing the total to 28 different European countries that can be explored with a Eurail pass.
The new countries have created new possibilities for pass holders. Travelers can now, for example, ride down the east Adriatic coast from Croatia to Montenegro, or stop in Poland on their way from Prague to Berlin.
The new Children Travel Free initiative helps Eurail crack into the family market. Children aged four to 11 can now ride for free with a family member or friend who is traveling on an Adult Eurail Pass. The initiative is valid for up to two children per adult.
The First Class Youth Pass adds a new possibility for travelers aged 12 to 25. Previously, Youth Passes were only available in second class. The first-class Youth Pass is now for sale at a 20 percent discount off the adult price. The First Class Youth Pass and the Children Travel Free Initiative give Eurail the product to allow most families to take advantage of the pass program.
The five in 10 Days Global Pass adds still more flexibility by giving travelers the ability take five travel days anywhere within a 10-day span to visit non-bordering countries of their choice.
The new Attica Pass is a One Country Pass to Greece that includes the ferry system. The pass offers six ferry crossings within one month (including two international trips between Italy and Greece and four domestic trips for island hopping), and takes care of travelers with a rail/bus transfer from the international port of Patras to the domestic port of Piraeus.
