Travelers using the popular Eurail Global Pass will find they have even more access to travel around the continent and beyond.
Eurail has restructured the iconic all-in-one train pass, giving users even more access to European rail travel. Three more countries have been added giving travelers access to trains in Great Britain, Lithuania and Macedonia in 2019.
“We anticipate the streamlining of our Pass offerings to be a welcome change by both consumers and travel agents alike,” said Clarissa Mattos, market manager Americas and Pacific at Eurail. “The increased clarity and transparency of product options makes planning a European trip easier and more affordable than ever with Eurail.”
Eurostar has now been added to Eurail’s portfolio, connecting London with major European cities such as Amsterdam, Avignon, Brussels, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Paris and Rotterdam.
Great Britain is now included in the Global Pass. Macedonia is now offered in the Global and One Country passes, and Lithuania is now included in the Global Pass.
In addition, Eurail is retiring its Multi-Country Passes (2-4 countries) in favor of promoting Global and One Country Passes
Passes now offer more flexible travel options and are even cheaper. Passes for 2019 will be 37 percent less with a three-day pass for use within one month starting at $274.
Seniors age 60 and over will also be able to save 10 percent off the Eurail Global Pass or Eurail One Country Pass for first- and second-class tickets. The youth category is 23 percent off of the adult fare and includes travelers up to 27 years old. There's also a second-class option for adult Global Passes, and there is a new Greek Islands pass that includes 53 total islands.
Rail travel continues to prove one of the most popular ways for visitors to Europe to explore the region.
