AmaWaterways’ 20th river vessel, the 156-passenger AmaLea, has embarked on its maiden “Tulip Time” itinerary this week roundtrip from Amsterdam. The ship will be christened in Vilshofen, Germany, on May 26 by its godmother, AAA executive Filomena Andre.
AmaLea will operate six seven-night “Tulip Time” cruises before it embarks on a schedule of Danube River itineraries sailing between Vilshofen and Budapest. The vessel will round out its inaugural season with four Danube River “Christmas Markets” itineraries.
Like its sisters – AmaKristina, AmaStella and AmaViola – AmaLea is equipped with connecting and triple-occupancy staterooms designed to appeal to families and multigenerational groups, twin balconies and a heated sundeck pool with a swim-up bar.
AmaLea will also offer daily complimentary Sip & Sail cocktail hours, a new onboard amenity introduced in 2018; free Wi-Fi; and a fleet of bicycles for guests’ use at no charge. Additionally, the ship features a spacious main lounge, a fitness center, and an array of dining venues, including AmaWaterways’ signature The Chef’s Table specialty restaurant, which offers a wine-paired tasting menu.
“We are thrilled to see AmaLea welcoming her first guests to enjoy her luxurious features, modern and spacious design and impeccable service as they sail an unforgettable ‘Tulip Time’ cruise,” said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. “I am confident our guests will appreciate the warm, pastel colors of the interior decor that marry so beautifully with the blooming tulip fields around them.”
