American Cruise Lines has unveiled new details about the 900 square foot Grand Suites aboard the new American Song.
Set to debut October 6, 2018, American Song is the first in the line's "Modern Riverboat" series that will eventually number five.
The second ship in the class will debut in the summer of 2019 and they're unlike the traditional river cruise ships that currently ply domestic rivers.
American Song's "modern" design is more akin to European river ships, incorporating glass, sleek lines, and a light palette. Public spaces include a four-story glass atrium and six lounges. But, it's the Grand Suites that are really making waves.
In addition to their spacious size, the suites feature floor-to-ceiling glass panels on two walls that allow for panoramic views of coastal towns, villages, and countryside. Each Grand Suite has a dedicated living and sleeping area, plus a full-size marble bath with double vanities. Wrap-around balconies provide a venue for outdoor dining.
All the staterooms aboard American Song feature Keurig coffee makers and refrigerators stocked with complimentary juices, waters, white and red wines. Guests in Grand Suites will also enjoy extra treats delivered each evening, including a bottle of premium champagne. They'll also have access to concierge service.
