The Bahamas Celebration is still out of service after sustaining damage after hitting a still-unidentified underwater object on Oct. 31.
"Right now it's still being evaluated," said Glenn Ryerson, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Celebration Cruise Line. "It definitely needs some repairs and we don't have a time frame for when it will be back in service."
He said it was "not really quite certain" what the ship struck but said "a full investigation" is underway. After the incident, the company cancelled cruises for the first two weeks of November.
Ryerson said clients on the Bahamas Celebration's two-night cruises between the Port of Palm Beach and Grand Bahama Island are being offered several alternatives.
They can choose to go on a two-night trip from Miami to Bimini on the Bimini SuperFast operated by Resorts World Bimini or get a full refund. Or, they can reschedule the trip on the Bahamas Celebration when it re-enters service. "We're giving them incentives for doing that," Ryerson said.
