On Thursday, Carnival Cruise Line took the delivery of the company's newest and largest ship, the Carnival Vista.
The 3,954-passenger Carnival Vista was handed over to the Carnival Cruise Line at a ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, and the vessel will reposition to Trieste, Italy, before departing on its maiden voyage May 1.
After working a summer schedule in Europe through October, the 133,500-ton Carnival Vista will operate a pair of 11-day cruises from New York in November before finally launching year-round service in the Caribbean from Miami.
"Carnival Vista is a spectacular addition to our fleet and we can't wait for our guests to experience all of the ship's exciting new features," said Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy. "Carnival Vista will provide our guests an opportunity to create a lifetime of wonderful vacation memories while offering our valued travel agent partners another exciting vacation option to market to their clients."
The new Carnival Vista will feature many unique amenities for passengers, including a suspended cycling experience called SkyRide, the first IMAX Theatre at sea and a brewery crafting its own beer right onboard.
Some additional special features to the Carnival Vista include Family Harbor accommodations, Havana staterooms and suites and a WaterWorks aqua park featuring the longest slide in the fleet.
