Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Freedom Returns to Service With New Funnel, Enhancements

Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Freedom cruise ship has officially welcomed back travelers after unveiling a brand new funnel and signature Carnival red, white and blue hull livery, among other enhancements.

The 2,980-guest ship entered its 16-day dry dock at the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain earlier this month and has since embarked on a 14-day transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to its homeport of Port Canaveral, Florida.

This particular refurbishment marked the shipyard's first time designing and manufacturing the iconic Carnival funnel.

Additional onboard enhancements include an expanded casino, a newly installed Heroes Tribute Bar honoring military veterans and active-duty service members and a Dreams Studio where guests can capture keepsakes with the help of Carnival's photography staff.

Efforts also included enhancements to the ship's staterooms and public areas.  

From Port Canaveral, Carnival Freedom will offer four- and five-day sailings to destinations in The Bahamas, such as Nassau and Princess Cays, as well as other Caribbean destinations, including Grand Turk.

New itineraries aboard Carnival Freedom include Carnival's upcoming exclusive destination, Celebration Key, as a port of call beginning in 2025.
