Fans of Disney Cruise Line can look forward to watching a new float glide through the streets of New York during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Called “Magic Meets the Seas,” the new float will feature the bows of eight Disney cruise ships. The featured ship will be Disney Treasure, the forthcoming vessel slated to debut on December 21.
In addition, parade-watchers can enjoy a specially choreographed performance starring beloved Disney Animation, Pixar and Marvel characters. Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse will lead the festivities, which will include Disney Treasure’s anthem “Live the Adventure.” The performance will also feature songs from “Coco,” “Moana” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
Disney is unveiling the new float to celebrate the growing Disney Cruise Line fleet, which will expand to 13 total ships by 2031.
“Disney Cruise Line is excited to continue our partnership with the team at Macy’s to sprinkle some extra pixie dust this holiday season with our brand-new float design,” says Denise Case, director of entertainment creative for Disney Live Entertainment.
“The magic of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade provides the perfect opportunity for us to collaborate and bring our special Disney magic to life through our one-of-a-kind entertainment that will fill the streets of New York City with enchantment," Case continued.
