Norwegian expedition line Hurtigruten is offering a new webinar for travel advisors and their clients, discussing the “fjord to fork” culinary experiences onboard the ships this July 25.
The Tales of the North: Fjord to Fork webinar will be held on Thursday, July 25th at 11:00 a.m. PT/2:00 p.m. ET. Travel advisors and their clients are welcome to register here.
The webinar will include host and Regional Sales Manager Tiffanie Kilgast and the Food and Beverage Manager onboard the recently refurbished MS Trollfjord, Eindride Lauritzen.
Guests will enjoy learning about Hurtigruten’s approach to Norway’s Coastal Kitchen, utilizing the best of sustainable farming practices, local produce and age-old Scandinavian cooking and preservation methods.
Hurtigruten prides itself on sourcing 80 percent of its food locally and works with over 50 bakeries, farms and other local businesses for sourcing. On the MS Trollfjord, guests enjoy a selection of three restaurants, all offering something unique to enjoy.
At Flora, travelers will delight in Norway’s earthen bounty, with meals featuring wild game, plant-based Wellington with locally grown sea kelp and other delicious dishes.
Brasserie Árran takes inspiration from the northernmost Scandinavian people, the Sámi. Here, guests can enjoy Hurtigruten’s take on a traditional Sámi reindeer stew, smoked reindeer meat, pickled herring and more.
Lastly, Røst is an homage to Norway’s staple food: fish. The fine-dining restaurant offers meats including salmon and reindeer, but includes kelp, Arctic pearls, sea urchins and other more unusual seafoods.
