MSC Cruises has unveiled the entertainment lineup for MSC World Asia, the third ship in its World Class series, ahead of the ship’s Mediterranean debut on December 4.
The new flagship will feature six theatrical production shows across its entertainment venues, including three new productions in the World Theatre and a new live music spectacular in the Panorama Lounge.
Two returning guest favorites, “Hall of Fame” and “Queen Symphonic,” will also make their Mediterranean debuts aboard MSC World Asia.
The ship will feature 13 new experiences and reimagined spaces compared with MSC World Europa, the first ship in the World Class series. Entertainment will span multiple venues, including the World Theatre, Panorama Lounge, Luna Park, The Harbour and the new Clubhouse.
MSC World Asia will begin seven-night Mediterranean sailings later this year, visiting destinations including Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta.
“MSC World Asia invites guests to experience the Art of Cruising through an exceptional mix of new and returning world-class entertainment,” says Steve Leatham, vice president of entertainment for MSC Cruises. “Beyond our spectacular stage shows, MSC World Asia will feature an extensive live music program, alongside enriching activities, games and interactive experiences.”
Live music will be a major part of the ship’s entertainment program, with 33 musicians performing daily across multiple venues. The lineup will include strolling musicians, solo performers, live bands and the cruise line’s dueling pianos experience.
New World Theatre Shows
The World Theatre, the ship’s main entertainment venue, will host four productions, including three new shows.
“La NoTte,” produced in partnership with Only Child, takes guests into a fictional residence frozen in time, where music, dance and cinematic effects tell a story about lovers and misfits.
“Sensoria,” created with the creative and production company tbi “The Big Idea,” will center on the five senses, combining music, movement and cirque artistry.
“Ritmo Divino,” produced with 2 Creative Entertainment, will combine flamenco and modern interpretations of Spanish folklore in a story about a flamenco dancer and a matador whose love affair ends in tragedy.
“Hall of Fame,” meanwhile, will bring its live concert format to the Mediterranean for the first time. The production celebrates influential artists and pop music moments in a format inspired by live music award shows.
New Panorama Lounge Show
The Panorama Lounge will feature two large-scale productions.
“Sunset Symphonic” is a new live music show that will combine pop and dance anthems with orchestral music, live singers and musicians, choreography and aerial performances. The production will feature a recorded orchestra of dozens of musicians alongside live performers.
“Queen Symphonic” will celebrate the music of Queen with a filmed 36-piece symphonic orchestra, live rock band, vocalists, dancers and acrobats. The show is also making its Mediterranean debut.
MSC Cruises says the entertainment lineup was developed with talent from its recently launched MSC Creative Studios, a dedicated entertainment development and training facility in Edinburgh, Scotland.
