MSC Group has acquired a production studio in Edinburgh, Scotland, and plans to combine creative development for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.
Called MSC Creative Studios, the new venture will support the development of shows and productions for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.
The cruise division of MSC Group is renovating the studio to create a new dedicated facility for entertainment development and performer training. It’s expected to be fully operational by July 2026.
MSC Creative Studios will include a dedicated aerial rehearsal space, 11 dance studios, six vocal studios, a technical recording studio, offices, green rooms, changing facilities and storage for scenery, props and costumes.
The facility will support rehearsals, technical training, stagecraft development and performer preparation prior to shows being launched on board.
“Having a dedicated home for our entertainment development and training is essential as we continue to expand the scale and ambition of our productions,” says Steve Leatham, vice president of entertainment for MSC Group’s cruise division. “This state-of-art facility will help ensure our shows are launch-ready and consistently delivered at the highest quality, reinforcing the cruise division’s long-term commitment to innovation in onboard entertainment."
