Expedition line National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has added the Charaidew II ship to its fleet of chartered ships, expanding the line’s offerings to India with two new itineraries in 2026.
The specially designed ship will sail the Brahmaputra River in India. It will offer 17 cabins, a sundeck, library, saloon, gym and 5-star service, all designed with Assamese decor.
Trips will include local naturalist guides and a National Geographic photographer.
The 18-day India by Land and River: Taj Mahal, Safaris and the Brahmaputra will visit iconic landmarks and the lesser-known Assam region. Travelers will enjoy visiting the Agra Fort, Taj Mahal and Kaziranga National Park, embarking on jeep safaris through two parks to see Asian elephants and Royal Bengal tigers and exploring Indian culture in Kolkata.
The trip starts at $20,655 per person.
The 11-day India Expedition: Kolkata, Kaziranga and the Brahmaputra River itinerary is a shorter journey offering a sailing down the storied river, an exploration of the Kaziranga National Park and a full day in Kolkata. This trip starts at $11,320 per person.
