Operations have resumed at Royal Caribbean's private island destination in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, after recently suffering damage during a storm.
The pier took a hit, resulting in some sailings having to divert from the award-winning private island experience.
A company spokesperson issued the following statement to TravelPulse:
"Perfect Day at CocoCay experienced adverse weather over the weekend of January 30–February 1 and temporarily closed. Following assessments, the eastern side of the pier was unavailable for docking, and select itineraries were adjusted. Guests were informed directly, and operations have since resumed."
The bad weather caused infrastructure to fall into the water on the east side, leaving only the west berth open and restricting docking to just one ship while crews cleared the underwater hazards.
Thankfully all is back to normal for Royal Caribbean and its guests.
