Silversea Cruises believes in protecting the environment.
Upholding each philosophy is the line's new partnership with ORCA, a leading marine conservation charity in the United Kingdom.
"We strongly believe when guests travel with Silversea they become ambassadors for both the destinations and wildlife across the globe. Silversea is committed to responsible cruising, and with our guests, we will ensure that generations to come can enjoy the wonders of our oceans," said Mark Conroy, Silversea's managing director for the Americas, in a press release.
As part of the collaboration, Silversea will continue to engage with guests as they explore the world's marine life and also help the organization gather important sightings data of whales, dolphins and porpoises, helping the cruise company contribute to its conservation work.
From firsthand experience aboard the Silversea Expeditions brand's Silver Discoverer in Alaska, there are indeed frequent opportunities for viewings of such creatures in their natural habitats right off the ship. With a good telephoto lens, both guests and crew will easily be able to identify and track many magnificent marine animals accordingly.
Silversea's partnership with ORCA mirrors the line's with Accademia Teatro alla Scala, The Peninsula Hotels and Royal Geographical Society with IBG in which regarded artists, experts and guest speakers also come onboard to better the guest experience.
Conservationists from ORCA are scheduled to be aboard the following whale-watching sailings in collaboration with ORCA:
-Silver Explorer voyage 7809 from San Diego, California to Vancouver departing on May 2, 2018
-Silver Explorer voyage 7810 from Vancouver to San Francisco, California departing on May 13, 2018
-Silver Muse voyage 6910 from Tokyo to Seward departing on May 12, 2019
-Silver Muse voyage 6911 from Seward to Vancouver departing on May 27, 2019
