A new cruising company will set sail beginning on July 8, 2016 as Victory Cruise Lines with the m/v Victory I. Sailings will head to Canada and the Unites States Great Lakes first and then plan to depart for Cuba come Oct. 28, 2016. Itineraries will vary in length from three to fourteen days.

The 5,000-ton, 202-guest Victory I was formerly Haimark Line's Saint Laurent. When that company went bankrupt, it had to cancel its planned Cuban cruises, so now Victory intends to pick up where the other left off. Its inaugural cruise to Cuba will be the first to set sail from central Florida at Port Canaveral. The first itinerary will be a seven-day voyage. Afterwards, three-day to two-week Cuban cruises will leave from Miami through April 2017.
"We intend to make our product the standard of excellence for small-ship cruising to the Great Lakes and Cuba, while providing great value for our guests," said Bruce Nierenberg, president and CEO of Victory Cruise Lines. Victory Cruise Lines is based in Miami, Florida, and the renovated Victory I features 101 cabins across its 300-foot length. Sailings will include shore excursions, wine and beer at lunch and dinner and top notch personalized service.
The Victory I will begin its new journey from Montreal, Canada to Canadian ports and stops along the Great Lakes on July 8, 2016, continuing in the region in the summer and fall and later again in 2017.
