For three days each year, travel professionals and travel aficionados alike descend on New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center for North America's largest consumer and trade event: the New York Times Travel Show.

This year, the event will be held Jan. 27-29 and is expected to draw more than 29,000 visitors and 500 destination and supplier exhibitors from across the globe. It's your chance to explore the world in a day, as well as take in a few performances and sample cuisine from around the globe. Even better, visitors can (and should) take advantage of special offers and book their next vacation right on the trade show floor.

Here are 10 reasons to attend and book your next trip at the New York Times Travel Show:

Exclusive travel deals. Hands down, there's no better place to score exclusive travel deals, giveaways and on-site offers than the New York Times Travel Show.

All the world's a stage. Art and culture are intrinsic parts of travel. And with five cultural stages and nearly non-stop performances, attendees can take a trip around the world, courtesy of the New York Times.

Book signings. Got a favorite travel book? Chances are the author will be here. From Arthur and Pauline Frommer to Barbara Ireland, author of the New York Times "36 Hours" series, you can buy their books and get them signed.

Family travel pavilion. Learn everything you need to know about making your next family vacation one for the ages in this 7,000-square foot pavilion. There, you'll find exhibits (from cruise lines to dude ranches and everything in between), a presentation stage and a kids' demonstration area.

Exhibitors, exhibitors and more exhibitors. More than 150 countries will be represented in 14 pavilions. So whether you're looking to take a solo trip of self-discovery or a cruise with 15 of your best friends, there's an exhibitor (or 10) that has you covered. Pro tip: Preview the list and map out the ones you want to speak with in advance.

Taste of the World. Culinary personalities, famous chefs, live demonstrations and samples are reason enough to attend. Did we mention the samples?

Meet the Experts. Not sure how to maximize your frequent flier miles? Champagne tastes on a beer budget? Want to learn more about David Bowie's Berlin? What about Bhutan? Then stop by and meet the experts and get insider tips and advice on a host of travel topics.

Travel Seminars. Get the latest from some of the industry's biggest names, including Rudy Maxa (Before You Go: The Inside Scoop with Rudy Maxa), Matt Kepnes (12 Easy Way to Save Big Money When You Travel), Pauline Frommer (Major New Developments in Travel) and Peter Greenberg (The Brave New World of Travel).

Wellness Travel Pavilion. Wellness travel is no flash-in-the-pan. In fact, it's estimated that the wellness travel sector is worth $494 billion and that it will only continue to grow in coming years. For the second year, the New York Times Travel Show is featuring a pavilion dedicated to wellness travel, showcasing destinations that are looking to attract health and wellness-minded travelers. So whether you're looking to learn about the latest in fitness travel or determine which luxury spa vacation suits your needs, this is the place to be.

Location, location, location. Add on a day or two and explore the city. There's nothing like New York and nothing like travel.
