Trying to visit Paris on a budget is not for the faint of heart. Only during my college years, when I was willing to bunk in hostels, was the city remotely affordable.

The same goes for London. My son and I visited for spring break last year and while I loved every minute of the experience, I did not love how much that vacation cost me.

But here’s some good news (and goodness knows most of us can use a pick me up right about now). A new report from Dollar Flight Club reveals that flights to a handful of historically costly destinations are cheaper this year.

Yes, you read that right. Amid the skyrocketing prices of well…nearly everything these days, flights to some of the most beloved luxury destinations have declined.

“2026 is shaping up to be a year where some of the big bucket-list destinations are finally pricing more like normal trips, at least on the flight side,” says the report, which is based on an analysis of tens of thousands of data points across hundreds of routes,

That analysis included a look at live prices, historical curves, and how often real deals are popping up. The result? Not only are flights to Paris and London a tad more affordable, but so too are a few other typically costly locations.

And here’s why: Dollar Flight Club CEO Jesse Neugarten tells TravelPulse that “what’s changed is that airlines are fighting harder for leisure travelers than they were a couple of years ago."

“On routes like Paris, London, Tokyo, and Dubai, capacity is up and competition is fierce, so economy prices have to stay sharp,” Neugarten added. "Airlines know travelers are price-sensitive up front and more willing to spend later, so the cheap ticket gets you in the door and the extras drive the profit."

The bottom line is that some of the bougiest, splurge trips are quietly getting cheaper to fly.

Here’s a closer look at the top 5 luxury destinations, where economy ticket prices actually look better in 2026 than they did the last couple of years.

Paris, France (CDG/ORY)

A few years back, most globetrotters felt like they were winning if they scored a New York–Paris ticket for less than $500 roundtrip.

Now however, Dollar Flight Club says it is “regularly seeing mid-$300s to low-$400s on competitive dates from East Coast gateways, with sub-$500 pricing pretty common if you’re flexible on when you go.

Yes you read that right. Mid-$300s for a ticket to Paris.

What changed is simple: transatlantic competition. According to Dollar Flight Club low-cost and leisure-focused carriers are “anchoring the floor, and legacy airlines are forced to play in that range with basic economy fares, especially in the off-season.”

So if Paris is on your bucket list, here’s how to score the best deal. “Treat anything in the $300s from New York or Boston as ‘book now, figure out the details after,’”  says the report.

You’ll also want to aim for February, early March, or late October, and whatever you do, avoid obsessing over which airline it is.

London often feels like the most expensive place to visit in Europe. (Trust me, this is no joke).

Now, from the East Coast at least, airline ticket prices are often priced in the high-$300s to $400s, with sub-$500 roundtrips showing up a lot from New York and Boston, if you catch the right window.

The reason, per Dollar Flight Club, is that London is one of the most competitive international routes in the world.

“You’ve got U.S. legacies, U.K. carriers, JetBlue, and plenty of one-stop options all fighting over the same traveler. That keeps economy honest, even if premium cabins and fees are drifting up,” says the report.

If you want to get in on the London action, look for any tickets under $500 from Boston, or New York’s JFK or New Jersey’s Liberty International Airport. You’ll also want to aim for midweek travel. And don’t be fussy about whether you land in Heathrow or Gatwick.

Tokyo, Japan (HND/NRT)

Japan was very expensive right after reopening post-COVID, with $900-plus economy tickets the norm for a while. But Dollar Flight Club say that reality has cooled off.

Right now, West Coast–Tokyo deals can be found in the low-$500s from Los Angeles and even from other U.S. cities. There’s also many roundtrip options in the $600s–$700s to be had if you’re not locked into traveling on peak weeks.

“Average prices to Asia are still higher than Europe, but they’ve clearly come down from the 2023 peaks as more capacity comes back and airlines fight harder over transpacific leisure travelers,” says the report.

If you’d like to fly to Tokyo for less, snatch up any LAX–Tokyo tickets you spot in the low-$500s. Or anything under $700 from whatever your home airport happens to be.

Aim for January to early March travel, but avoid the annual cherry blossom frenzy.

Dubai, UAE (DXB)

Dubai, land of the opulent shopping malls and over-the-top luxury hotels, indeed comes across as a costly place to visit. But at least when it comes to flight prices, this destination is more approachable than you might think, says Dollar Flight Club. Apparently, it's not unusual now to see U.S.–Dubai economy deals starting in the high-$500s to low-$600s from major gateways (if you’re willing to connect and shift dates a bit.)

"The Gulf region is ultra-competitive," the report explains. "Multiple big-name carriers plus partner airlines via Europe and the Middle East are all trying to fill long-haul cabins. The easiest lever they have is economy sales outside of peak holiday periods."

Wondering how to play this one? If you're flying from the East Coast, give any tickets under about $600–$650 round-trip a serious look. You may also want to target October, November or February through March to score the best deals. And you'll want to search for economy seats on whichever vetted airline is cheapest.

Miami, Florida (MIA)

Miami might be the easiest “luxury for less” move on the Dollar Flight Club list because travelers get beach, nightlife, and big-city energy without leaving the country or dealing with long-haul jet lag.

As for airline ticket prices, it seems competition has pushed fares down into the double digits one-way from some hubs, and roundtrips under $150 are very doable outside true peak dates, says the report.

“Domestic fares overall have been wobbling instead of spiking. When airlines add a lot of capacity and demand doesn’t fully match, places like Miami benefit with softer prices, especially in shoulder periods,” the report explains.

If you’re hoping to book a vacation to Miami, aim for a midweek flight and be sure you’re visiting outside of major events.
