Visitors to Buckingham Palace will be able to take a deeper look at the life of Diana, Princess of Wales in a special showing of some of her personal items this summer. The display, located in the Palace Music Room, is being presented as part of a special tribute to the princess as this summer marks the 20th anniversary of her death.
"From the outset of her marriage, The Princess undertook many official duties in support of The Queen, both at home and abroad," said the Royal Collection Trust in a statement announcing the display. "As a tribute to The Princess, this work is remembered through a special display in the Music Room, one of the State Rooms open to the public as part of the Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace."

The display's highlight is the desk the Princess used to write and read personal and official correspondence. According to the press statement, "Many of the objects shown on and around her desk have been selected by The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry to reflect their mother's commitment to duty and their personal memories of her."
Among the memorabilia are a blue leather blotter and a brown leather letter rack which held her embossed writing paper and envelopes. Also on display is a silver calendar made by Cartier, which was a gift to the Princess from President and Mrs. Reagan during an official visit to the White House in November 1985. Other items include a leather photograph frame, a burgundy leather briefcase made by Asprey, several enamel boxes she used as gifts during overseas trips, a pair of ballet shoes, a wooden school tuck box she used when she attended boarding school and a case of her favorite cassette tapes, including music from Diana Ross, Elton John and George Michael.

Admission to Buckingham Palace is £23.00 for an adult ticket, which includes entrance to all 19 State Rooms.
Other exhibitions on display this summer include "Royal Gifts," which showcases a variety of gifts presented to The Queen during her 65-year reign.
As an added bonus, guests who ask Buckingham Palace to treat their ticket purchase as a donation to the Royal Collection Trust will receive a complimentary one-year pass with their admission.
