Caribbean festivals evoke the region’s infectious energy,
with pulsating music, joyful dancing and cultural elements, all wrapped in
brilliant colors.
Music festivals offer concerts featuring popular bands and
musicians performing at concert halls, outdoor venues and specialized sites. Caribbean
music festivals cover a range of musical forms including jazz, soca, reggae and
pop.
Caribbean carnival celebrations combine street parties with
parades, band and cultural performances and feature revelers decked out in
elaborate costumes. Main events are supplemented by ancillary food fairs,
special performances and cultural presentations. This year’s calendar features
a full slate of music festivals and carnival celebrations across the islands.
Event: St. Maarten Carnival
Dates: April 10 – May 5
Details: St. Maarten will transform into a vibrant tapestry
of color, music, dance and culture as it celebrates it’s annual Carnival. The
three-week extravaganza begins April 10
with a Jump Up, the first of four Jump Ups scheduled throughout the Carnival
season.
Carnival Village, a stadium-like pulsating hub, lies at the
heart of the celebration, that serving as the epicenter for events,
electrifying concerts, and culinary delights throughout the carnival. Here,
visitors can indulge in a gastronomic journey in as many as 70+ interconnected
bar-like booths, featuring local delicacies that underscore St. Maarten’s
reputation as the culinary capital of the Caribbean.
Jouvert Morning, a pre-dawn street party starting at 4 AM is
one of the most anticipated events, as revelers
dance through the streets to the infectious rhythms of soca music, embodying
the island’s vivacious energy.
The crown jewel of
the Carnival season is the Grand Parade, held on April 30. Elaborately
decorated floats and participants in dazzling costumes wind through the streets
of Philipsburg, creating a visual feast that captivates both locals and
visitors alike.

Event: Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival
Dates: April 30 – May 10
Details: For the past 33 years this has reigned as one of
the Caribbean’s most iconic music festivals. Originating in the early 1990s as
a small gathering for music lovers it has expanded into the ultimate combination
of vacation and musical experience.
The festival’s main stage is at the picturesque Pigeon
Island National Landmark which offers sweeping views of Saint Lucia’s north end
and as far north as the island oft Martinique. Patrons bask in the moonlight gentle
breezes wash over the park creating an ideal setting to hear some of the best
bands in the world entertain audiences.
Through the years, hundreds of bands and
international Jazz A-listers like pianists Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock,
guitarists George Benson, Earl Klugh, Jonathan Butler, Brazil’s pianist and
vocalist Tania Maria, and contemporary Jazz artists Acoustic Alchemy and
Esperanza Spalding have graced the stage, sharing their amazing artistry with
concert-goers. These international acts perform on the same stage as home-grown
internationally recognized Saint Lucian musicians.
The multi-genre Caribbean festival showcases not just jazz
but pop, R&B, gospel, roots reggae, soca and salsa styles. This year’s
festival will feature performances by the Brandford Marsalis Quartet, Esperanza
Spalding, Billy Ocean, TEMS, Capleton, Ella Mai, Tye Tribbett and Ada Ehi.
Fringe events and shows will take place during the week,
leading up to the main show, which takes place on Mother’s Day (May 10).

Event: Dominica Jazz and Creole Festival
Date: May 3
Details: The Dominica Jazz ‘N Creole Festival fuses Jazz
music with Creole music, food, and culture. Launched in 2010, the festival has
been well received each year at its home ground at Fort Shirley in Cabrits, one
of Dominica’s major tourism attractions. The festival takes place in the
afternoon and evening time to attract more families and visitors to come out,
socialize, and partake in the festivities.
This unique festival showcases the infusion of the jazz art
form into the creole culture of Dominica and has attracted jazz and creole
artists from around the world.

Event: St. Kitts Music Festival
Dates: June 25 to 27
Details: The St. Kitts Music Festival brings global sounds
together with and island vibes for a high-energy celebration of music, culture,
and community. The 2026 festival will take place June 25 to June
27 at Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre, promising a memorable experience
for music lovers from around the world.
Since its launch in 1996, the festival has grown into one of
the region’s most iconic music events, having hosted star performers including
Lionel Richie, Michael Bolton, Jennifer Hudson, Sean Paul, Beres Hammond, Burna
Boy and Machel Montano. With its vibrant combination of genres and
international headliners, it continues to deliver a show like no other.
Beyond the nightly performances, the festival week features
an array of fringe events from beach parties and boat rides to lunchtime

Event: Antigua Carnival
Dates: July 25 to August 4
Details: Antigua Carnival is a flaming, high-energy
explosion of music, mas, and revelry. Dubbed ‘The Caribbean’s Greatest Summer
Festival,’ it features non-stop action for carnival lovers from across the
globe.
From the moment the festival kicks off with T-Shirt Mas, the
streets of Antigua come alive with vibrant colors, pulsating soca beats, and an
electric atmosphere. The Jaycees Queen Show showcases grace and glamour, while the
island’s top soca artists battle it out for soca supremacy in the legendary
Soca Monarch competition.
For immersive cultural experiences, Watch Night offers a
soulful tribute to heritage with drumming, iron band performances, and messages
of unity. Meanwhile, steelpan lovers will find their paradise during Panorama,
where the melodic tones of pan orchestras fill the air.
But the real magic of Antigua Carnival happens on the road.
J’ouvert kicks off before dawn, an epic street celebration drenched in paint,
powder, and infectious energy. Then, the grand spectacle of Monday Mas and the
Parade of Bands takes over, featuring dazzling costumes, euphoric dancing, and
unrelenting soca rhythms. It all climaxes with Last Lap—one final,
unforgettable street party in St. John’s City.

Details:With origins in the 17th century marking the end of the sugar cane harvest.
Crop Over is more than a carnival. It’s
live, breathing story of a people told through performance. costume and

The festivities begin with the Ceremonial Delivery of
the Last Canes, a symbolic nod to Barbados’ plantation legacy. From there, the

highlights include theatrical shows and spoken-word performances that bring
local legends and contemporary Bajan narratives to life. These storytelling
events, infused with humor, history, and heart, offer a deeper, more reflective perspective to the high-energy celebrations.
Calypso and soca music competitions, art exhibitions and culinary fairs take place throughout the weeks of Crop Over. Cobbhobblopat is
a stand out grand fusion of costume, choreography, and musical expression delivered
by renowned local and international entertainers—part concert, part theatrical
spectacle, and wholly unforgettable.
Gourmands can indulge at Bridgetown Market, where
traditional dishes vie with handmade crafts for center stage. Families are thrilled
by the Kiddies Kadooment, and night owls can’t miss Foreday Morning
Jam, a pre-dawn street party drenched in paint, powder, and pulsating beats.
But it is the festival’s explosive finale, Grand
Kadooment Day—held August 3—that is the true show-stopper. Thousands of
revelers in colorful feathered and bejeweled costumes parade through the
streets, dancing to infectious soca beats. Visitors are encouraged not just to
watch—but to join in.
