Whether you call it your Joe, Java, cup of Mud or Rocket Fuel, there's no denying that coffee is the beverage of choice for most people, especially in the morning.

On Sunday, October 1st, it even has its own day: International Coffee Day.

To celebrate your love of the coffee bean, consider booking a trip to see one of these coffee plantations up-close and personal.

In Costa Rica, you can tour Doka Estate, Cafe Monteverde and the Don Juan Coffee Tour, as well as the 640-acre Espiritu Santo's Arabica coffee plantation located in Naranjo.

In Hawaii, you can visit the Kauai Coffee company or the Kona Coffee Living History Farm, which also hosts an annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival in November that includes a pageant, farm tours and art exhibits.

In Jamaica, tour Blue Mountain Coffee, while in Chiang Mai, Thailand, you can visit Doi Inthanon National Park, where you can walk around the Arabica coffee trees.

In India, check out Tamara Coffee Estate in Coorg. If you're heading over to Brazil, take a two-hour tour of the history of Brazilian coffee at the São Paulo "Fazenda de Café."

Want to stay a little closer to home? If you're in the Big Apple, Le Méridien Hotels is bringing the hotel experience to Brookfield Place (230 Vesey Street, NYC) on October 1st by hosting a pop-up free coffee shop. Le Méridien Hotels recently opened three new hotels and are honoring their debuts with specially made coffees.

Le Méridien's Rome offers Espresso Macchiato, while its new Seoul location is celebrating with a Special Cold Brew. In Denver, there's a Sweet Cortado with double espresso, homemade peach syrup and steamed hot milk foam.

This year's NYC Craft Coffee Festival takes place Saturday, September 30, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 4:#0 p.m. with specially curated roasters and coffee shops.

September 29th is the start of the Espresso Martini Festival in Melbourne, Australia. If it's too late for you to get the festivities this year, it's never too early to plan for next year.

If you're looking to have a little something something with your coffee, you might want to consider a trip to Amsterdam, where they are known for hundreds of coffee shops that include a side order of mary jane. This includes The Bluebird coffee shop near the Red Light District, Abraxas and the Green House, which is favored by such celebrities as Snoop Dogg, Richard Branson, Lil Wayne and more.

Amsterdam is one beautiful country and has so much more to tour when you're not in the coffeehouses. Make sure you don't miss the Anne Frank Museum and have a Heinie at the Heineken factory. When you're done, circle back to one of the many coffeehouses and the snacks they offer.
