Grenada’s tourism industry is ready to receive visitors following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Beryl, the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) said, adding that the destination’s hotels and attractions are “fully operational. “

As evidence of Grenada’s ability to receive visitors, tourism officials noted that Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas will at there on July 9, bringing with 2,377 guests on board.

Nonetheless, its sister islands, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, have suffered “catastrophic damage,” tourism officials said.

“The recent impact of Hurricane Beryl left a trail of devastation in its wake throughout the Caribbean region,” said GTA CEO Petra Roach. “Particularly, the extensive damage witnessed in our beautiful sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique has brought a deep sense of pain that cannot solely be measured by material loss.”

To help bring relief to locals and assist with rebuilding efforts on the two islands, the GTA is urging people to contribute to the Hurricane Beryl Relief Fund.

“As we look ahead, we invite you to visit and see firsthand the beauty and resilience of Grenada,” Roach said.

“By choosing to support our local businesses, restaurants, hotels and local attractions in The Spice Isle, you are not only enjoying a memorable vacation, but you are also contributing to the recovery and growth of communities across the country.

“Together, we can turn adversity into strength and continue to build a brighter future for all.”
