The city of Las Vegas is a survivor.
Vegas survived myriad problems, including COVID, and in some cases emerged even stronger.
But now the Las Vegas Strip is facing two huge potential problems. And both could be catastrophic for the Las Vegas Strip and tourism.
According to a new report, the Las Vegas Strip has a bed bug problem. There are at least seven hotels infested with little critters, including the Circus Circus, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Palazzo, Tropicana, MGM Grand, and Sahara.
The information was found through a public health records request.
If the respective hotels don’t take steps to eradicate the problem, it could be a devastating blow to the hotel industry in Sin City.
"We have comprehensive procedures in place to address and resolve any issue that may arise,” the MGM said in a statement.
Just as much of a problem could be a potential strike by Las Vegas hotel workers as part of the Culinary Union. Three months ago, the state of Nevada dropped a COVID-era law requiring that hotel rooms be cleaned every day. The union was against the change.
Hotels are not necessarily prohibited from cleaning a room every day but have found that they can save money on wages to workers by not cleaning them every day.
Now the union workers are threatening to go on strike.
