Tropic Ocean Airways is partnering with the Bahamas Ministry
of Tourism to launch Bahamas in A Day trips, available every Saturday beginning
February 21.
Guests arrive at Tropic Ocean Airways’ private lobby in Fort
Lauderdale 30 minutes prior to departure, take off in the morning, and land on
the water at North Bimini Seaplane Base by 9 a.m. After spending eight hours
on the island, they return home to South Florida by early evening.
The goal of the new 25-minute day-trip flight program is
simple: to show people just how close—and how easy to reach—the Bahamas really
are.
To celebrate the launch, Bahamas In A Day will be
offered at a special promotional rate of $550 per person, representing a $100
savings off the standard launch price of $650. This discounted fare is
available on any bookings made prior to March 1.
"You don’t need a full week off or a complicated travel
plan to experience the Bahamas," said Jason Schmidt, CEO at Tropic Ocean
Airways. "You can wake up in South Florida, be on a beach in Bimini 25
minutes later, explore the island, and still be home for dinner. We’re taking
something people assume requires a lot of time, planning, and money — and
making it easy, spontaneous, and accessible."

more than just a new flight path; it’s a total reimagining of how accessible
our islands can be," said Chester Cooper, the Bahamas’ deputy prime minister
and minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation. "By providing the
opportunity to get from South Florida to The Bahamas in a mere 25 minutes, we
are removing the traditional barriers to international travel.”
Said Cooper, “We’re providing a seamless, premium gateway
that allows our guests to prioritize their time while still experiencing the
full depth of Bahamian hospitality."
The Bahamas In A Day Itinerary:
- 8:30
AM – Depart Fort Lauderdale
- 9:00
AM – Land in Bimini
- 9:00
AM – 4:00 PM – Island time
- 4:30
PM – Return to the Tropic Ocean Flight Center
- 5:00
PM – Depart Bimini
- 5:30
PM – Arrive back in Fort Lauderdale
Guests spend eight hours on the island and are home in time
for dinner.
In addition to 25-minute round
trip seaplane flights to and from Bimini, packages include free valet parking
at Tropic Ocean Airways and a private lobby with Wi-Fi, snacks and beverages.
Guests can enhance their visit with seasonally available
island options from snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of Honeymoon Harbour
and bonefishing through shallow mangroves with local guides, to guided
hammerhead shark dives and swimming alongside wild dolphins in their natural
habitat. For a more relaxed experience, guests can explore the island by golf
cart, enjoy beach club access, and spend the afternoon unwinding by the water.
The launch of Bahamas In a Day coincides with The
Bahamas serving as destination sponsor of this year’s South Beach Wine &
Food Festival, where the new day-trip experience will be officially introduced
to the public. During Foodie Con on February 21, a limited number of discounted
day trips will be available for purchase exclusively at the event.
Each booking
will include a curated swag bag with everything needed for the ideal day trip
to The Bahamas.
