Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo (CPTQ) is planning to invest in the promotion of the Mexican Caribbean to continue to encourage the visitors to travel to the region.
The organization has plans for more than 100 campaigns, spending in excess of $10 million the head of the head of the Sedetur, Marisol Vanegas Perez, told Pasillo Turistico.
Forty-one campaigns are planned for Cancun, Isla Mujeres, and Holbox. Riviera Maya, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum will be the focus of 33 campaigns.
Twenty-five campaigns will feature Cozumel, and 17 will promote Grand Costa Maya, a region that includes Chetumal, Bacalar, and Mahahual.
The campaigns will focus on each region's primary tourist markets. The first priority is national markets followed by the United States, Canada, Europe, South American, and Asia.
During the presentation, Vanegas Perez noted that nearly 54 percent of international travelers in the region arrived from the U.S. Eighteen percent arrived from Canada, nearly 15 percent arrived from Europe and around 11 percent came from South America-one of the fastest-growing regions for the Quintana Roo.
