Are you looking to up the ante on this year's ski vacay to the French Alps? Looks like you're in luck beginning this December, when Six Senses opens its first residences in Courchevel in France.

Courchevel is part of Les Trois Vallees, one of the largest linked ski areas in the world and home to one of the biggest concentrations of world-class ski resorts. It is renowned for its excellent lift system and has also been dubbed the "St. Tropez of winter sports," attracting a well-heeled clientele from around the world.

The new Six Senses Residences Courchevel will fit in well here, with its 53 well-appointed apartments and exclusive private ski-in-ski-out concierge service, not to mention the storied services that Six Senses brings to its guests.

Six Senses Residences includes one- to three-bedroom apartments and up to five-bedroom duplex penthouse suites with private treatment rooms. All interiors were designed by Alain Foeillet, who blends contemporary styles with traditional mountain influences. The natural environment provides inspiration by featuring timber walls and robust beams, plus stone and clay flooring complemented by custom-made furniture and local art.

Luxury is defined by the 10 spacious penthouses that cover 1,076 square feet and offer panoramic mountain views, up to five exquisitely appointed bedrooms, specially configured wine cellars and triple aspect balconies overlooking the slopes. Smaller apartments are also available all with balconies, terraces, guest rooms and their own parking spaces, ski lockers and caves.

Exclusivity is of the utmost importance for guests at the residences, and services will include everything from private jet access to bespoke gourmet ski guiding, and all can be arranged by a dedicated Six Senses residents' concierge who is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

A dedicated ski concierge service will allow guests to ski on and off the piste morning and evening without the need to carry their skis or boots a single step. A shuttle service will also be provided during the day and evening.

A highlight of the Six Senses experience is its spa, and the Six Senses Spa Courchevel will feature an open-plan reception and lounge area to welcome residents and offer a range of signature massages, restorative therapies, facials and body treatments across five dedicated treatment rooms. The spa will also feature an indoor swimming pool, saunas, a steam room, a relaxation lounge, a gym and a studio for wellness classes. There will also be manicure and pedicure stations as well as a juice bar. Comprehensive tailored wellness experiences will also be available. The spa will open to residents and outside guests in the autumn of 2016.

Six Senses Residences Courchevel is located 62 miles from the airport of Chambéry and Lyon Saint-Exupéry and accessible via TGV and Eurostar trains, which are a 30-minute drive to the town of Moutiers.

Weekly rentals that will include a range of services such as breakfast, daily cleaning, linen and home products will be available from the beginning of December to the end of April, and will cost from $6,150 to $40,000 per week.
